Access to Leadership: A Reflection from Bogotá
During my recent trip to Bogotá, Colombia, I had the pleasure of meeting Ramon Muñoz, President and Managing Director for Latin America at Hitachi Energy. Encounters like these remind me why I value being part of this organization.
One of the qualities that truly sets Hitachi Energy apart is the accessibility of its leadership team. Throughout my time here, every senior leader I’ve approached—whether for a quick chat, mentorship, or even just a cup of coffee—has made a visible effort to accommodate the request.
This isn’t something to take lightly. You can tell a lot about an organization by the way its senior leadership engages with colleagues. Accessibility at the top level sends a powerful message of openness, respect, and collaboration. It reinforces the idea that leadership isn’t just about titles—it’s about people, relationships, and the willingness to connect.
In Bogotá, that sense of accessibility came to life once again. Speaking with Ramon, I was struck not only by his vision for Latin America but also by his authenticity and the way he made time to listen. These experiences deepen my pride in being part of Hitachi Energy and reaffirm that leadership is strongest when it remains approachable.
